Our Services

Individual Therapy

Engaging in therapy is not just about fixing what feels broken, but also about finding and capitalizing on the strengths that are already within you. While you will feel supported throughout the therapy process, you will also learn how to challenge your pre-existing thoughts and behaviors that may have been hindering your goals up to this point. Therapy will equip you with new tools and resources to sustain meaningful change.

EMDR Therapy

Experiencing trauma is difficult and everyone manages it in their own ways. Some choose not to talk about it, doing everything they can to avoid the distress. Others find they can’t stop thinking about what happened. Many feel angry, fearful, and overwhelmed, often feeling alert or “on guard.” But surviving trauma is powerful, but often brings up shame or the feeling that one has to be “brave” and “strong” to overcome it.

Unlike other treatments that focus on directly altering the emotions, thoughts, and responses resulting from traumatic experiences, EMDR is an evidence-based treatment that focuses directly on the memory and is intended to change the way that the memory is stored in the brain to restore its natural ability to heal.

Psychological Testing

  • Have you or a family member been struggling at work, school, or home?
  • Are you concerned that you or your child has a learning disorder and want to learn more about cognitive and academic strengths and weaknesses?
  • Is there a cognitive or emotional concern that might benefit from a psychological assessment?
  • Has your doctor requested that you complete a psychological assessment prior to undergoing a specific surgical procedure?
  • Do you want to gain an understanding of your strengths and weaknesses with learning and behavior?
  • Have you tried everything you can think of, with no results?

Our psychological testing services may be a good fit for you.

Psychological testing is often recommended to better understand the root of a problem. It is similar to your primary care provider who may order blood tests to understand what’s causing those symptoms. The results of the tests will help inform develop a treatment plan.

Psychological evaluations serve the same purpose. Psychologists use tests and other assessment tools to measure and observe a client’s behavior to arrive at a diagnosis and guide treatment.

Our practice offers comprehensive psychological evaluations to assess a variety of concerns, to include ADHD, and cognitive and memory problems, emotional concerns, academic difficulties, as well as targeted assessment for a specific referral question such as fitness for certain surgical procedures.

Testing is offered as a standalone service or can be a helpful adjunct to ongoing therapy. Testing will not be offered by your individual therapist but by a testing psychologist on our team. Testing can be helpful to identify findings that affect functioning in a range of areas to determine appropriate treatment strategies. We offer a collaborative experience where client feedback is welcome throughout the assessment process.

These services may be accomplished in 1-2 visits. However, in order to best assess and recommend treatment options or accommodations, you can expect a collaborative multi-visit assessment process involving the individual, parents/guardians, teachers, and other helping professionals. At the end of the full evaluation, you will receive a written report and meet with one of our psychologists to discuss practical recommendations.
